SPORTS AND THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

Samantha Chapman Remedial & Sports Massage

Working long hours, commuting to work, sitting behind a desk or doing manual, physical labour: day-to-day life itself puts pressure on our muscles. Massage helps us to ease aches and pains and relieve stress to live a healthier and happier life.

“How did I get into massage therapy”? Well, through my own discovery of its benefits…

Keeping fit has always been an important part of my life. I’ve participated in adventure racing, triathlon and marathon races. I’ve also been on the other side of the fence as a triathlete coach, too. Over the years, I’ve experienced lots of sport and remedial therapy to help with the injuries I’ve sustained, helping me to recover far quicker. Plus, as a coach, have seen how massage can aid others in safer training and quicker muscle-repair.

After realising the positive impact massage can have, I trained as a therapist myself”.

Regular massage has so many benefits, not just for people who partake in sports, but for everyone.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Cademuir Sports Massage

Graeme holds a level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy. Initially he was going to use the diploma to do massages for charities on event days, but was inspired by Claire – whilst receiving treatment on her physio table – to come on board and work from Falcon House. Here he will gain other experiences from the hub and its professionals. He is due to attend a Kinesiology Taping and strapping course and gain qualifications in Cupping.

Graeme has participated in a number of sports including rugby union and cycling. He is a long-suffering Scotland rugby supporter and a season ticket holder for Leicester Tigers. He has been a member of Bingham Rugby Club for the past 23 years having represented them on the field and on the committee as Fixture Secretary. In the past 5 years he joined Vale of Belvoir Cycling Club and has ridden on several sportives from the local Belvoir Blast to Coast to Coast in a day (a very long day in the saddle).

BOWEN THERAPY

Vale Bowen Therapy

Anna Hitherley, Bowen Therapist

Anna qualified as a Bowen Therapist to help others in the same way that Bowen had helped her…..”Thirteen years ago I was diagnosed with a bulging disc in my lower back making it difficult to even stand and causing acute sciatica.  After rejecting the surgeon’s knife and finding that sessions with the chiropractor and the osteopath didn’t work for me, I began looking for something else.  That is when I found Bowen Therapy and the rest, as they say, is history.  You could say that I am, quite literally, walking proof of the benefits of Bowen.  In fact, so strong is my belief in Bowen Therapy that two years ago I made the decision to leave my ‘day job’ and train as a therapist so that I could help to others in the same way that it helped me.”

Bowen is an extremely versatile therapy that helps the body to balance and re-align itself.  The sessions are very gentle and non-invasive with gentle rolling moves being made over specific points on the body either on skin or through light clothing, on a couch or if necessary, seated.  It is suitable for all age groups.  Practitioners treat the body as a whole or can target a specific problem by pinpointing stress build up in muscle groups and then releasing it.

The Bowen Technique both balances and stimulates – the restorative process beginning once the body is relaxed.  The list of issues that Bowen Therapy may assist in alleviating is quite extensive, ranging from back and muscular skeletal problems to fatigue and emotional problems to name but a few!

NUTRITION

Janie Beaumont – Naturopath Nutritionist Life Coach

Professionally Accredited life coach with NLP.

Accredited member of the national council of psychotherapists (NCP).

Using a holistic approach, Janie works with clients to help create lifestyle habits that are sustainable. Allowing individuals to take greater responsibility for their health and general wellbeing by working with the power of food and nature. Her ethos “How you can be the best YOU!”.

Naturopathy is a system of preventative and restorative health care which uses science and philosophy. An emphasis is made on treating each person as an entire individual; looking for ways to treat any external manifestations at their root. Creating the most favorable conditions to stimulate and enhance the body’s natural healing power through diet, lifestyle and possibly supplementation, treatment plans are gentle, non-invasive, effective, and do not have adverse side effects.

Life coaching encourages one to explore themselves, to unmask potential hidden clues that are the key to personal fulfilment. Often our values and beliefs are made up of social conditioning or programming, which inhibits true personal growth. Working together, a positive transformation can take place that results in greater awareness of one’s self and one’s life, allowing you to walk the path that you are destined to walk.

A note from Janie…..  “Hello there… I am a qualified life coach and naturopath nutritionist.  I am also a working mum of two beautiful twin girls, one of whom has a complex disability. Raising my disabled daughter has thrown many challenges my way, leading me to educate myself and learn how wonderful we are as humans, discovering that we have an inherent ability to maintain and restore our health, to heal ourselves, and to gain mastery over our own lives”.

If you would like to give yourself some time to learn ways to create a better life through naturopathic coaching, then book an initial consultation via skype, messenger or FaceTime, alternatively I would love to meet with you face to face at my clinic at Falcon House in Bingham, Nottinghamshire.

Heal yourself from the inside out…

Just talk to us to see how we can help you...
